Hello my friends. I wanted to let you know about my upcoming events.
This Saturday, Nov 11 I will be participating at The Artist Expo in Rome, Ga. You’ll find the event at Makervillage on 5th Avenue from 10am-5pm. I will be showcasing my pottery and will have a new painting with me. See details below for more info and other artists that will be present. Look forward to seeing you!
My last show of the year will be December 2nd. Ordinarily, the Rattling Gourd Arts Festival is this weekend, however, we decided to discontinue it. As sad as it is for me, I still have the itch to have an event. So, I’ve decided to have a winter arts open house at my home. I will be accompanied by 6 other artists.
Fran Myers- wheel thrown pottery Richard Cheatham- wheel thrown pottery Kim Plant- handmade soaps Steve Carruth- specialty wood pieces and furniture Graham White- turned wood Doug Hawkins- hammered/stamped metal jewelry and semi precious stones There will not be a rain date for this event. If weather turns bad, we will cancel.
If you would like to attend, please contact me and I’ll give you further direction.
In late October, I went to Chicago for the first time. Three and a half days was not nearly long enough for me to see and do everything I wanted. Millenium Park was my favorite and of course, deep dish pizza! Can’t wait to go back! Would love to see galleries and museums.
I was excited to be there!
Fun shot of me and my friend Anna.
Last thing I want to mention is a fun happening from this week. My friend Bill Shugart of One World Adventure Company called me to join in the filming of some footage for the Alabama Tourism Delartment. Broadview Media came up from Montgomery to Little River Canyon to take drone and video footage of us exploring all the parks have to offer. We canoed at DeSoto Falls and explored around Little River Falls. It was a fun day. 😄 Can’t wait to see the completed videos. I’ll be sure to share.
Hope to see you soon! Olivia
